STARTALK-UToledo L.E.A.D.E.R. Program
for Arabic, Chinese & Korean Teachers (2022-2024)
This STARTALK teacher program will provide you with training through an interactive and engaging hybrid (online and in-person) learning experience.
The program will expand your conceptual understanding and teaching strategies with hands-on experience planning and teaching a critical language. Using strategies to engage students for your language program, you will create thematically organized lessons that meet the World-Readiness Standards. And you will discuss and receive feedback about your lesson planning and instruction from peers and pedagogical specialists.
Who can apply?
We are accepting 30 participants (6 participants in Arabic, 18 in Chinese, and 6 in Korean). Our program is designed for Arabic, Chinese, and Korean teachers at community-based heritage schools and K-16 private/public institutions. Those who wish to expand their knowledge and skills in planning and teaching their language should apply. We accept participants who work with all grade levels (PK-16). We encourage teachers seeking a teaching license or teachers who wish to make a difference in their language program to apply.
